So we booked to go to Warner Bros studio and looked for hotels close that would accommodate a family of 6, obviously we like one room as the kids aren’t old enough to have a room on their own. I contacted quite a few but the prices were quite expensive and we settled on the Hilton for £120 including breakfast.
We arrived late on the Friday as the traffic had been a little bad, the parking was free and easy to gain access to. The receptionists greeted us well and we were given the key to our room, and also the WIFI code as a Hilton Honors member, free to join, I think I joined when I booked the stay. We found our way up in the lift and down the winding corridors to our room and walked in. The room was okay, it had a TV, a bottle of water each and some tea and coffee making facilities, although no travel cot.
We decided to go out for a meal as there was a Toby Carvery next door and the meals in the restaurant were about £15-18 and not a great selection for kids. The Carvery was very busy around 8 on a Friday and the service was dire. They stopped the carvery queue as they didn’t have enough roast potatoes, however there was a tray full and the 7 people before us who were let through in the end didn’t pick roast potatoes. It was worth the wait though as the food was yummy.
We asked the reception as we left for a travel cot and when we got back to the room it was there. The room itself was nice, the little extras were there like more towels and little bits however the main things like beds weren’t very comfortable and the shower wasn’t powerful, these main things we would have expected more from in a Hilton.
Next morning we went down for breakfast, my ultimate best part of the day as it has everything you can hope for. They even had a new installed Pancake machine so the staff helped Ruby make pancakes for everyone and she could choose a variety of toppings. There was also a juice bar with different juices such as blackcurrant, apple, orange and fruit. You could also have Tea and Coffee, cereals with a range of milks, a full English, bakery selection featuring Pain au chocolat and Croissants as well as others. I had around 7 courses myself and it does really set you up for the day. The staff in the restaurant were mightily helpful as well.
Overall the staff were great, the room was nice enough, the price was super competitive and the breakfast was delicious so I would recommend staying at the Hilton. You also get the Hilton Honors membership for free when you book a room so worthwhile doing it.
