24 Days of Xmas: Meg

Meet our 19th Blogger: Megan

1) ABOUT ME
Hi my names Megan, but you can call me Meg. I’m 21 and live in Norwich, Norfolk. I’m a fully qualified in Hospitality & Events management and planning, but I am currently working in retail whilst doing event’s on the side. I had a blog a few years ago and for some reason stopped but I’ve recently gotten back into it again and I LOVE IT! I want to mainly share my life experiences all the up’s and down’s, I am in the process of writing two post’s… One about my struggle with anxiety and the other about my struggle with body confidence.

2) HOW DO I SPEND XMAS DAY?
Well last year was my first Christmas away from home, I moved out of my parents house and into my flat with my boyfriend. So last year I had three Christmas’s! But I’m a very festive person so I was EXTREMELY happy with this!! Pancakes is always a MUST for Christmas breakfast, then it’s onto stockings! I don’t know why but I always have too open my stockings first before any presents, I love the little gifts the most and I open my ‘main’ present last. With it being my first Christmas away from home last year; we spent the morning with my family and also had Christmas dinner there, in the evening we went to my inlaws for drinks and games.

3) BEST MONEY SAVING TIP FOR XMAS?
Hmmm… Tricky because I have a couple… Buy throughout the year! There are so many sales throughout the year and you can get some really good bargains so it’s worth picking up bits as and when you see them.

4) WHAT PRESENT WOULD YOU LOVE TO RECEIVE IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT?
I would love a trip to Disney World in Florida! It’s a DREAM of mine to go to Disney World or even Disney Land.

5) BREAKFAST ON XMAS MORNING USUALLY CONSISTS OF?
PANCAKESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ And hot chocolate or toasted marshmallow latte πŸ˜›

6) DO YOU DO ANYTHING SPECIAL ON XMAS EVE TO CELEBRATE?
Thinking about it I haven’t since I’ve moved out of my parents house; but when I used to live at home with my parents Xmas eve was going to see my grandparents, watching a movie as a family and getting to open one small present (Normally a DVD)

7) FAVOURITE XMAS SONG AND WHY?
NOOOOO!!!!!!! I CAN’T CHOOSE!!!!!!! There’s just so many!! But if I only get to pick one I’d say… Last Christmas by WHAM. I remember watching the music video on telly when I was younger and it’s just been my favourite since.

8) FAVOURITE FESTIVE FILM AND WHY?
I’d have to say… The Santa Clause. They have been one of my all time favourite films since I was a child and they still are now. I just think they have really good story lines and it’s just a truly magical film.

9) WHO DO YOU SPEND XMAS WITH?
Who don’t I spend xmas with is an easier question! Xmas day is with my partner; then going to see my family and then his, but its normally xmas week that we see grandparents, extended family and friends.

10) WHAT DOES XMAS MEAN TO YOU? DO YOU THINK WE’VE LOST THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF XMAS?
Christmas just feels me with this warm feeling, even writing this email is making me feel cosy & festive. I LOVE giving gifts!!! It’s just seeing that look on someones face when you get them a gift that really wanted or something that will mean a lot too them. I think it’s down to the individual person when it comes too losing the meaning of xmas; I mean I work in retail and have done since I was 16 and I still LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE xmas! Some people only care about the how much money the gift cost and not about family and sharing the happiness and being with family. And yes stores sometimes do suck the joy right of out xmas.
